What kind of traveler are you? Hands On Travel modifies each tour
to fit the characteristics of the people who make up each group.
For the experienced traveler who travels often, our daily guided tours
often take up only the mornings, while in the afternoons leeway is
provided for them to wander around independently in each place. That
way, they can combine their desire to travel independently with that
to experience new things while on vacation directly from a sign language
guide instead of having to rely on guidebooks.
For the novice traveler, who has never traveled abroad before, we
extend out more of a helping hand through our travel preparation packets
and frequent e-mail correspondence before departure to make sure that
they are fully prepared and know what to expect. And during the tour,
we often work to eliminate any complications that may occur, making
their first-time traveling experience as pleasant and comfortable
as possible.
But what does every person who joins a HOT tour have in common? They
are deaf, or a child of deaf adults, or parents of deaf children,
or an interpreter, or somebody who enjoys the beauty of sign language.
They are adventurous, willing to try a new way of travel, and eager
to learn. They are also looking for a special travel experience that
they will never forget.
